Electronic Updates
E-Bulletin is an electronic update provided to CISI members on a wide range of Curriculum and Instruction issues, such as the state budget and legislation, assessment and accountability, and instructional materials. Each update is concise, accurate and timely. You can call or email with questions to obtain more information.
Discounted Workshops
CISI provides highly relevant workshops that get great reviews. CISI members attend these workshops at discounted rates and may send three staff members to the fall “School Program Update” workshops at no cost.
Consulting
CISI has assembled a team of experienced, knowledgeable consultants to help CISI members save time. If you have questions, need ideas, or want more intensive assistance, CISI is the place to start.
- Budget and Legislation
Peter Birdsall – Executive Director, an expert on state policy issues whose particular expertise is linking budget and fiscal issues to C&I leaders in a way that is tailored to their interests and needs.
Teri Burns – Former Deputy Superintendent for Governmental Affairs in the California Department of Education. Teri is also a 25-year school board member. She provides deep knowledge and experience on legislation that applies to K-12 education. - Categorical Programs
Carol Brush –Former President of the California Association of Administrators of State and Federal Education Programs and a former categorical program director for San Juan Unified School District, who brings expertise across virtually all the major categorical programs, particularly those in the consolidated application. - Curriculum & Instruction
Cindy Pilar — Former high school principal, school district director of curriculum, school district assistant superintendent and currently a county office project director on school principal coaching. Cindy helps provide leadership on curriculum and instruction issues.
